Review: Bavarian Lakes Sightseeing Flight Tour September 2024
A breathtaking experience awaited our passengers on the helicopter tour through the Bavarian Alpine foothills in September 2024.
Our Bavarian Lakes Tour began, like all of our sightseeing flights, in Ottobrunn. Shortly after taking off in a westerly direction, we were treated to an impressive view of Munich's Südkreuz before we flew on to Lake Starnberg.

Lake Starnberg and Lake Ammersee: Nature meets culture
Even from a distance, Lake Starnberg and its surrounding mountain backdrop were impressive. Bernried stretched along the eastern shore, where the famous Buchheim Museum with its expressionist collection was clearly visible from the air. Not far away was Possenhofen Castle, once the summer residence of Empress Sisi.
Passing Feldafing, which is a popular destination with its idyllic beach, we reached the enchanting Rose Island. Here, nature and history merge to create a unique panorama.
We continued on to Lake Ammersee, where the traditional Andechs Monastery with its famous beer garden was visible from the air. In addition to its religious significance, it is famous for its own monastery beer. Lake Ammersee itself impressed with its vastness and the variety of leisure activities.
Through the Alpine foothills: Walchensee, Kochelsee and Tegernsee - Bavarian Lakes Tour by Helicopter

After a look at the Murnau Staffelsee, we continued our flight to the Walchensee. The turquoise water of the lake glittered in the sun and offered a spectacular sight. Right next to it was the Kochelsee, surrounded by the first foothills of the Alps. Here, Bavaria showed its most natural side. The view of the Kreuzeck and the historic Elmau Castle was particularly impressive.
On the way further north, we saw the imposing Hohe Kisten and the picturesque Weilheimer Hütte. The flight took us past the Herzogstand and the Brauneck before we reached the region around Lenggries and Bad Tölz. Here we were able to watch skydivers and paragliders who were also enjoying the wonderful summer day from high up in the air.
Lake Tegernsee was the next highlight of our flight. Particularly striking: the Bräustüberl Tegernsee, which is known for its Bavarian cosiness. In Rottach-Egern, some of Bavaria's most exclusive 5-star hotels stretch along the lakeshore.
Between Gmund am Tegernsee and Bad Wiessee we were able to admire the beautifully situated Gut Kaltenbrunn and the Egern Bay. Here you can stop off for a break with a direct view of the lake.
The Wallberg, which is a popular hiking and paragliding destination, offers a special panorama. A stopover in one of the charming places on the lake, be it at Tegernsee Castle or along the lake promenade, is always worth recommending.
The crowning glory: Lake Chiemsee

On our way east we reached the majestic Chiemsee, also known as the "Bavarian Sea". Particularly fascinating were the Fraueninsel with its monastery and the magnificent Herreninsel, where the famous Herrenchiemsee Palace is located.
The picturesque Chiemsee lake promenade in Prien and Bernau offered a wonderful view of the many sights on Lake Chiemsee. The view of the Malerwinkel, one of the most idyllic corners of the lake, was particularly attractive. Our sightseeing flight thus offered a unique overview of the most beautiful places and sights on Lake Chiemsee.
